Actress Dimple Jhangiani, who was on a mini break post her wedding with diamond merchant Sunny Asrani in December last year, is back in action. She has been roped in to play a pivotal cameo in director-turned-producer Ravindra Gautam's 'Meri Durga'. She will be seen as a senior district magistrate in the show.
Dimple says, "Ravindra Gautam is my guru. He directed me on my debut show 'Kuch Iss Tarah'. I have learnt a great deal from him. So, when he offered me the role, I took it up in a jiffy. My character's journey in the show starts as a sportsperson. I haven't played a character like this in my career so far. I have mostly portrayed bubbly and sweet characters and an out-and-out negative role once." She will also be sporting a never-tried-before look. "I will be wearing saris and my hair will be swept into a bun," she reveals.
Much like her character in the new show, Dimple was an athlete in real life, too. "I was a very good relay runner and also used to do long jumps. I have won several medals at school. However, I couldn't pursue it after my studies," she says.
Dimple was on a sabbaticalher last TV show 'Tumhi Ho Bandhu Sakha Tumhi' went off air in 2015.
