Ssharad Malhotraa, who plays Rishi in 'Kasam Tere Pyar Ki', was initially apprehensive about turning daddy on screen. It's only after much thought that the actor agreed to be a part of the seven-year-leap that the makers had planned.
He says, "Initially, I was apprehensive about portraying an older character. However, many people have told me that as an actor, I have to take on different roles. Moreover, this is a finite role on an evergreen show, where there is a lot of excitement on and off the set. Though I had played a father in 'Bharat Ka Veer Putra —Maharana Pratap', it was a historical. Now, I am playing the father of a seven-year-old girl. Of course, it is a little weird, but on the show, she and I are more like friends. Our bond is like that of Rahul-Anjali in 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'."
While he is playing a father, Ssharad is not going to sport a salt and pepper look. He reveals, "My character looks quite mature because he has been through a lot, in terms of life and love. However, I won't be sporting grey hair and there is no typical salt and pepper look either; the only change will be in my clothes and body language."
Meanwhile Ssharad's excited about his short film by debutante filmmaker Aneeta Patel. He says, "Firstly, it is a change from acting on TV; it feels nice to convey a story in a limited time frame. In this case, it was the script that got me hooked. I play a business tycoon who is a charmer.".
