The actress admits that she's longing to be back to the limelight and is looking forward to working on her new show
Drashti Dhami, who got married in February this year, has been away from the small screen for almost a year now. Her fans have missed her dearly and are waiting with bated breath to see their favourite TV star back in action. But it's not just them, Drashti too has missed the limelight for all these months and is very excited to be back to work with her new show, Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani that'll air on Zee Tv.
While talking to a leading daily, Drashti admitted that though she enjoyed the break initially, after a point it got boring as she had nothing to do and she started looking forward to shooting again. She was quoted saying, "How much can you cook, or hang out with your friends? There was nothing to keep me occupied at home."
Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani is a period love story set in the Ameerkot of '40s. The story revolves around Gayatri (Drashti's character) who is a Mangalik but daughter of a money lender and Rana Indravadhan Singh Deo (Siddhant Karnick), a prince from the royal family and a widower who is still in love with his deceased wife. The two get married as part of a business proposition. The rest of the story narrates Gayatri's journey from being a neglect to that of becoming a great ruler. The show starts on July 27, 2015.
