Actress Juhi Parmar, winner of the fifth season of reality show 'Bigg Boss,' has been on a break ever since the birth of her daughter Samairra in January, 2013. We spotted a slimmer Juhi at an event recently, and asked her if the weight loss is for a show.
The actress said, "My daughter is small and needs me. I can't leave her at home to shoot 25 days a month. If need be, I am fine with not working for another couple of years. I do miss acting, but when I see my daughter, the feeling vanishes. I don't regret my decision. There have been offers, but then I know that I am playing the most important role of my life. Work can wait, but not my child," says the actress.
Talking about her postpartum weight loss, she says, "I have lost 13 kilos in four months. I feel beautiful and lighter. I stuck to a very serious diet, but I was not starving. I eat right at right intervals and work out six days a week. The pressure was never to become thin, but just to lose the extra flabs."
The transformation wasn't easy as Juhi suffers from hypothyroidism, which slows down the process of weight loss. She says, "Had I not been suffering from hypothyroidism, I would have lost more in less time. It was this health issue that made me put on weight in the first place, and I struggled with it for four years. I have never aspired for size zero. I am happy with the way I look now."
The actress feels that the makers are experimenting with content, that she can relate to easily. "I would love to be a part of a mature love story like Bade Acche Laggte Hai, or a finite series. It's nicer for an actor, because you don't get stuck playing the same role for years on end, and it doesn't become monotonous," she concludes.
