I am doing comedy for the first time in 35 years, says Vibha

Actress Vibha Chibber needs no introduction. Better known as Krishnaji in 'Chak De! India' and a stern mother-in-law in several shows, including 'Mrs Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuyien', 'Humsafars' and 'Piya Rangrezz', the one thing that the veteran actress hasn't attempted in her career spanning 35 years is comedy.
However, breaking away from the stereotype, she will soon tickle the funny bone with her latest venture, 'Hum Aapke Ghar Mein Rehte Hain' as reformed dacoit Bachani Devi.
Admitting she was apprehensive about the offer initially, she says, "I asked the producers if they were serious about casting me in a comedy show. I told them that I am scared but they had the faith in me. We had a 10-day workshop. It's a situational comedy and isn't forced or caricaturish, but more like a comedy of errors."
Vibha insists that she is a complete fun person in real life much opposed to her reel image. "I can't even scare a cockroach, let alone humans. But still, people fear me. I believe my personality overpowers my nature.
I like being happy and don't like the rona-dhona, but indulge in it because of my profession. I am very happy that I am finally playing a role that's quite like the real me," she says.
