In a recent interview, Rahul Raj claimed that Pratyusha Banerjee was depressed due to no work, and alcoholism made it worse. All the Balika Vadhu fans know about Pratyusha. This actress died on April 1, 2016, and it is reported to be a death by suicide. When her parents made a complaint against Rahul, who was her boyfriend at that time. So he opens up about it in a conversation with the media.

The actor said, “She had been drinking long before I came into her life. Her father used to give her alcohol. When we got together, since we’re actors and have to maintain our appearance, I told her that if she kept drinking like this, it would eventually lead to a disaster. She wasn’t very interested in work either, and I told her clearly that if she kept alcohol in front of me, I might start drinking too, so we had to control it”.

He continued, “Especially after Balika Vadhu ended, her relationship with her father became complicated -they were very friendly when sober, but after drinking, her father would become aggressive, and they’d end up fighting”. Along with it, he highlighted how he tried his best to help her reduce her alcohol intake and encouraged her to maintain a diary. He also stated that how he forced her to write about her daily agenda, and tried to improve her non- work habits, which is good for them.

Rahul then added the tension between her and the production house of Balika Vadhu. But she faced issues everywhere and finally ended her life.
