Mumbai, November 2025: A father whose memories are fading, who finds it difficult to recognize his loved ones, who needs support the most... but is abandoned by his own people on a pilgrimage. This isn't just one person's loneliness; it's the breakdown of a relationship considered the deepest and most sacred. Anil Sharma, who has created timeless cinematic experiences like 'Gadar 2' and 'Apne', presents 'Vanvas', a story that will touch the heart, bring tears to the eyes, and perhaps even make many think. This film examines relationships that weaken over time, answering the questions we often avoid. Coming to Anmol Cinema for the first time, "Vanvas" is a film meant to be watched not alone, but with the entire family, because it's not just a story, but a mirror of our emotions. So this Saturday, November 15th at 7:30 PM, join your family at Anmol Cinema and experience every emotion deeply felt by the fear of losing a loved one.
"Vanvas" is a heart-warming journey that celebrates the beauty of relationships. At the center of the film is Nana Patekar, whose powerful performance once again proves that he remains one of the finest actors today. His intensity and truth bring every scene to life. After "Gadar 2," the hit pair of Utkarsh and Simrat will be seen together again in "Vanvas," bringing a fresh new dimension to their characters. Utkarsh Sharma brings authenticity and charm to his performance, while Simrat Kaur touches hearts with her powerful performance. The film beautifully captures the deep emotions of family, love and sacrifice, making it extremely relatable and sensitive.
Director Anil Sharma said, "I wanted to make a film that would touch people of all ages, connect with every generation, and bring families together. 'Vanvas' speaks of love, values, and the heartwarming relationships that define us. In today's times, a 70-80-year-old feels like a forest dweller in his own home, with no one to talk to. Such is the state of society. Many elderly people feel alienated in their own homes; this is a harsh truth that we often overlook. There's a saying: 'A father's duty is to raise his children, and a child's duty is to take care of his parents,' and I completely agree. 'Vanvas' is the story of an abandoned father and orphaned son who find family in each other. Mithun's musical magic heightens the film's emotions, while the duo of Nana Sir and Utkarsh breathe life into the story. When I decided to make 'Vanvas,' I knew I would make this film solely for Nana." I will do it with Sir. His presence gives it a depth that no one else can. This film is an extension of my dream to tell stories with family at the center. I can't wait for the audience to watch 'Vanvas' from home."
About the film, Nana Patekar said, "'Vanvas' is a reflection of our times. Today, families face many challenges, such as unspoken distances, misunderstandings, and a lack of time for each other. The core theme of this film is to depict parents and their selfless spirit, who always do something for us without any expectations. It beautifully captures the deep sense of love and sacrifice. As we grow older, we begin to forget many things—this is a natural part of life. But what we should never forget is the importance of family. No matter what happens, family is always our strongest support. I am confident that audiences will see themselves in this story and deeply appreciate their relationships with their family and loved ones."
Speaking about the film, Utkarsh Sharma said, "'Vanvas' is a film that makes us reflect on our relationships and the bonds that bind us together. It beautifully captures the spirit of family love, sacrifice, and togetherness that every generation will relate to. I was extremely excited to be a part of this project, as I have been a longtime fan of Nana Patekar sir's films. His depth and dedication have added a deeply moving impact to this film. Sharing the screen with him was an incredible learning experience for me. In this era of action thrillers, 'Vanvas' is a refreshing and heartwarming reminder that nothing is more important than family."
Simrat Kaur said, “What I loved most about 'Vanvas' was its depth and how beautifully it depicts family relationships, their struggles, and their sacrifices. It's a film that will make you laugh, cry, and most importantly, make you realize the importance of loved ones. What I loved most is that it's not just a story about the elderly, but also speaks to the youth, showing that each generation has its own role, which is crucial in keeping the family together.
Some stories touch the heart, while others remain etched in memories forever. Watch 'Vanvas' for the first time on Anmol Cinema, this Saturday, November 15th at 7:30 pm!
