A fresh controversy has erupted on the reality show The 50 after contestant Bebika Dhurve, along with Khanzaadi, passed derogatory and slut-shaming remarks against fellow contestant Nehal Chudasama during a recent episode. The comments have triggered massive outrage among viewers, with many accusing the contestants of crossing ethical boundaries on national television.
During the episode, Bebika and Khanzaadi were seen mocking Nehal’s appearance and making personal remarks that viewers widely labelled as slut-shaming. One of the statements that sparked intense backlash was, “Chhati chaudi karke aajati hai, iska toh surname bhi wahi hai,” which audiences found deeply offensive. Fans alleged that Nehal was deliberately targeted and humiliated, including mockery related to her surname.
Soon after the episode aired, Nehal Chudasama’s fans rallied strongly on social media, calling out the remarks and demanding accountability from the contestants and the makers of the show. The backlash quickly escalated, with several users criticising the show for allowing such comments to air unchecked.
However, the situation took a more serious turn when Bebika Dhurve allegedly sent threatening direct messages to one of Nehal’s fans on social media. Screenshots of the conversation began circulating online, intensifying the outrage. Instead of addressing the criticism, Bebika allegedly warned the fan of legal action.
All the messages allegedly sent by Bebika Dhurve read as follows:
“Dont drag bebika in this will do defamation case against u. We as team will file a defamation case against u.. everyone reacts when they hear it for the furst time... why dont u show when bebika stopped khanzadi from abusing”
The alleged threats have further angered viewers, many of whom believe that intimidating fans for voicing criticism is unacceptable. Netizens have pointed out that issuing warnings and legal threats does not erase what was said on the show and instead worsens the situation.
As the controversy continues to grow, questions are being raised about accountability, responsibility, and the normalisation of sexist and slut-shaming language on reality television. As of now, there has been no official apology from Bebika Dhurve or clarification from the makers of The 50 regarding the remarks or the alleged threats.
Meanwhile, Nehal Chudasama’s supporters continue to stand by her, demanding respect and a stronger stance against derogatory behaviour on televised platforms.
