Addinath Kothare is a notable name in both the Hindi and Marathi entertainment industries. He has worked on hit television shows, films, and was recently seen in successful series such as ‘City of Dreams’ and ‘Bajao’. In an exclusive chat with Hindustan Times, the actor spoke about the differences between Hindi and Marathi cinema, and his journey of working in Bollywood.

Talking about the noticeable differences between the Hindi and Marathi cinema, Addinath mentioned that Hindi cinema (Bollywood) has a larger audience which is why the films have a bigger budget unlike Marathi films which have smaller budgets due to a lesser audience. He went on to say that Marathi films are mainly content driven which is generally not the case for Bollywood.
The actor also spoke about his enthusiasm to play different types of roles and be part of different genres such as comedy, action and thriller. He says he enjoys doing different types of roles and is glad he is receiving diverse roles.

Addinath further told Hindustan Times that while he may have a good fan-following with his Marathi background, it does not exactly give him any advantage when trying to make a place in Bollywood. He said that even if he and his father are well established in the Marathi industry, he has had to start from scratch in Bollywood. He went on to say that he has given auditions, and then got selected for every role he has done so far.
For the unversed, Addinath is also a director and producer, and his directorial ‘Paani,’ produced by Priyanka Chopra, will be releasing next year. Addinath said that he is looking forward to ‘Paani’ releasing in cinemas next year, and also gave some insight into the film. He mentioned that the film is based on a true story of a simple man who lives in a village in Nanded that has been going through a drought.
Addinath Kothare ended off by sharing how grateful he is for getting to work with prominent Bollywood actresses, as his work in Madhuri Dixit Nene’s Marathi production also releases next year.
